Ken Livingstone on 7/7

July 23, 2005

In the days that follow (sic. 7/7) look at our airports, look at our sea ports and look at our railway stations and, even after your cowardly attack, you will see that people from the rest of Britain, people from around the world will arrive in London to become Londoners and to fulfil their dreams and achieve their potential.

They choose to come to London, as so many have come before because they come to be free, they come to live the life they choose, they come to be able to be themselves.

  1. It was neither a “muggy morning” nor a “hot summer day”.
And yet…. The Times reported that Police were suspicious of Jean Charles de Menezes because he was wearing a jacket on a “muggy morning”. Meanwhile Time magazine reported that Police suspicions were aroused because Menezes was wearing a “thick coat - odd, on a hot summer day”.

I checked the weather history page at Weather Underground for the day in question. London: Min 12 degrees Max 20 degrees.

Neither a muggy morning, nor a hot summer day!
